Craig qualified as a solicitor in 2004, and obtained Higher Rights of Audience (All Proceedings) in 2006. He recently joined Steel & Shamash from Freshfields Bruckhaus Deringer.
He works within the civil department notably assisting and advising the Labour Party on a wide range of matters including electoral law, parliamentary and local government law, defamation, party funding and constitutional and commercial issues.
Craig’s recent cases include the successful election petition brought by a Labour candidate in Slough and acting for Searchlight magazine in a defamation case against the British National Party. He has appeared for the Labour Party in the High Court on electoral matters.
He is also experienced in other areas of civil litigation including bankruptcy and insolvency, insurance and reinsurance and financial services.
Craig is a fluent French speaker.
