Yen qualified as a solicitor in September 2001 and specialises in housing and community care law. She has a particular interest in public law issues/judicial review proceedings relating to the following areas;
- homelessness,
- support services,
- accommodation for asylum seekers and those subject to immigration control,
- unaccompanied minors including age assessments.
She has extensive litigation experience in these areas. She also has experience of representing adults who lack capacity, and their relations, in proceedings brought under the Mental Capacity Act 2005 and the High Court's inherent jurisdiction.
Yen has provided training in housing and community care for advice agencies.
