Mary-Ann Harris is a Partner of the firm, and Joint Head of the Family Department.  She was admitted as a solicitor in 1991 having previously been called to the Bar (1989).

Mary-Ann is a member of the Law Society Children Panel, and acts for parties in child care proceedings brought by social services.  Mary-Ann has represented children, parents, grandparents and other interested parties in such proceedings. She is highly regarded by her clients for her supportive and sensitive approach in this type of highly emotional charged proceedings.

She is able to assist on a number of issues including residence, contact, or other contentious issues such as, change of name, change of school, medical treatment, or where one parent wishes to remove a child from the English jurisdiction permanently.

She has over 20 years experience in family law dealing with financial claims arising from divorce, separation, and cohabite disputes. She has dealt with most types of financial claim arising out of relationship breakdown including lump sum and property adjustment orders, maintenance claims and pension orders. 

Mary-Ann has a pragmatic approach to family dispute resolution, and where possible will endeavour to resolve conflict through negotiation and agreement.  She has developed a reputation for having excellent negotiating skills, with an ability to listen and empathise, and focus on achieving her client's goals.
